Need headphone recommendation

My Koss KSC-35's just crapped out on me. They were great headphones so I was a little disappointed.

I'm looking for a pair of headphones to replace them that are great sound quality, portable, doesnt need an amp, and under $100. Anything the resident audiophiles of AT can recommend to me?

TIA!

Get some ec 2s, im a recoeding engineer and though i dont ha ve a pair myself i love them.

If sound leak is not a problem then go for the grado sr60s/80s.(used at home) If soundleak is a problem then i would go for the shure e2cs. (in a library/public place) They are freaking amazing for earbuds and block out a lot of noise.

Im drunk, and thats what i ment

Don't dump the KSC-35 yet. Ask for the KSC-35 as replacement from Koss, then send it in plus whatever fee they require and you'll probably get back a new set.

Im a sound engineer, and i use sony dj/studio headphones. The are huge and clunky, but looking like and asshole makes no diff whe it comes to my sound quality.

some say they are way too large to be portable, but that has never stopped me!

nice, i use the same cans...altho they've managed to sit in my drawer for the past 2 years. i prefer my sharp md-33s (imported from japan) on the go.

try audiocubes or head-fi

ksc35s are great phones for the price and nicely portable. Koss has a lifetime warranty I believe, you should be able to send them back & get them fixed or replaced. If you insist on a new pair, it depends what you need them for. Canalphones such as Shures and Etymotics are great if you don't need to hear what's going on around you. If you do, another pair of Koss's would do the trick, the 35s, 75s and portapros all use the same drivers, I believe.

the ksc35 are great, and THEY HAVE LIFE-TIME WARRANTY. check out their website for any phone numbers and send them back for a new pair. when i received my pair the clip was always falling out (as it does now), i called and they send me a pre-paid sticker and they sent me a new pair.
