I have a WHS which I built myself. One of the drives (a 1 TB WD Caviar Green) failed. I want to replace it with a Caviar Black drive.

I have had really good success with the Caviar Black drives and these have all been model number WD10000LSRTL. However, it seems WD10000LSRTL isn't readily available anymore, but model WDBAAZ0010HNC-NRSN is.

** What, if any, are the differences between the two models?

Well, I can't give you the exact info you wanted, but I can help you find it.

If the drive is dead I assume it is sitting on your desk somewhere? Specs should be printed on the label somewhere. Check out WD's website and type in that model number of the drive you are looking at and compare the specs. Should give you better details than most other comparisons since all info is posted by the maker, WD.
