Need Hard Drive advice

Title says it all. I'm looking to get another HD and put the latest version of XP so I can run some older files and games. My other HD was a snap, just plug it in, boot disk, etc. What can I expect when I plug another SATA drive in? Would I have to unplug my current drive to install the OS on the other one? Would I have to use RAID and what number? I have no idea what RAID is.

Generally any info on what to expect and advice on how to set up would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to partition my current HD and set up a "virtual computer" or anything to sophisticated. I want to keep things as neanderthal as possible. Any links to articles would be helpful, I'll probably just wikki RAID so I can learn up on it. Thanks again to all.

For easy drive swapping and change - consider a pair of mobile racks in your PC - or one rack and two trays. They now come in both SATA and PATA flavors. The SATA drives are, in most cases, hot swappable.

If you want to keep your drives and OS's separate (good idea!) you don't want anything to do with RAID.
