I'm currently looking for a 200GB HD that is fast, quiet, great performance, and most importantly RELIABLE. My price range is around $150. Thank you in advance!

Easy, Seagate. They are the only ones that back all their drives for five years.


 
I think if you do a search for hard drives in this subforum you'll find plenty of threads that will address what you're looking for. In particular, I have several Seagate drives and they work great--seem fast and quiet to me, but that's just anecdotal. You'll have no trouble finding a good Seagate in that price range from New Egg or Zip Zoom Fly, I'm sure.

or samsung.

i just bought a seagate drive from newegg and i kinda wish i got a hitachi or samsung spinpoint. idk maybe i made good decision.
