Need good, easy to use flowcharting software...

Any suggestions? Free would be nice, but I wouldn't mind spending some money if the quality is worth it.

I need something that's just super easy to use. I don't want to spend more time learning the software than actually making the flow chart.

I can buy MS Office at a heavily discounted rate at my University's computer store, but to my knowledge, Visio doesn't exist for Mac... And then again, I heard Visio is pretty in depth.

I prefer simplicity over breadth of features. I just need to be able to whip up some basic flow charts that depict logical flow.

Thanks!

http://www.edrawsoft.com/ <--- pwnz all. you can make 40 feet wide or long ones no sweat. this is where programmers go ahh business process workflow diagramming.

worth every penny for stupid simple. easy to find demon

That looks like amazing software, but it's not for Mac.

I'm going to check with my University's computer store and see what kind of deal I can get on Omnigraffle, if any. So far, that seems the most appropriate for my needs 🙂

Thanks, all

oh suck. i thought they did both. maybe they dropped the mac. but yeah it rocks - i looked at the other options and went man not my cup o tea but you can do insane business process workflow then hit it up on the 44" designjet to print em out.

I think Omni offers an educational discount online. Go and take a look at their website. That should drop the price some...

I picked up the demo of OmniGraffle. So far it seems pretty good. It's $120 for the pro version with an educational discount, or $60 for the normal version, in case anyone was wondering.

I haven't spent much time with it yet, but so far it's very easy and the results are clean. I'm spending ZERO time on "eye candy," but diagrams are still very clear and easy on the eyes.

I do recommend it, so far.
