Need gift idea for girlfriend's Mother, possibly red wine? if so suggest one

To help polarize gift ideas ill give you a bit more details.

I've been dating my gf for more then a month now, and her mom invited me to stay with them at her place in Los angeles, ca while visiting for 5 days.

Her mom is an asian lady around early 50's.
She rocks a new E-class mercedes.

so i'm thinking a bottle of red wine or white wine probably around $50-100,
if you think this is a good idea, give me some good suggestions.

if not wine, any other types of alchohol? jonnie walker blue label?

or anything else?

I think wine is a fine idea, just make sure she even drinks wine from your GF first, and whether she drinks red or white. I wouldn't buy hard alcohol as gift.

As for recommendations, I'm a big fan of Dornfelder from Schlossadler Vineyards, but you can only buy it in cases, direct from Germany over the internet. It's great wine and a case shipped comes out to about $25 per bottle, IIRC (12 wine bottles to a case). Otherwise, Chianti, Beaujolais and Shiraz are reliable types of red, IMO.

You don't need to spend that much to get a really nice wine.

Robert Hall Rhone de Robles is a nice wine. And maybe some flowers with it since it isn't as pricey.

Don't buy her any wine from CA or Oregon, since she is so close to that area. Instead try a winery from your local area (according to your profile it is MD). Being from MD also I am a big fan of Boordys, Liganore and Elk Run; however none of these wineries produce 50 dollar bottles, maybe 30 - 40.
