Need gift idea for a teacher

A friend of mine is getting her Masters in Elementary Education next month and I'm looking for some gift ideas. I thought about a nice sign that says "Ms. ***'s Classroom" or something like that, but she's getting married next year, so that won't be good for long. Does anyone else have ideas? Is there any gift giving equivalent to the law school grad's first briefcase? Thanks.

if it's for ellementry teaching I wouldn't get her a briefcase, maybe some kind of nice crystal candy jar, or one of those super huge wood paddles for wuppin kids to hang on the wall. or both, she can use the paddle for the kids that rob her candy jar. 😉

I once saw a gigantic apple that was actually a chair....it was pretty cool, but I'm sure it was somewhat pricey....

Maybe I'm a cheap bastard, but why do you need to get her a gift? You trying to hit it?

He is a friend of hers and wants to get her something.

Most teachers (as I remember it) liked having themed stationary and writing sets, for writing notes to other teachers and writing notes home and such. Just added a little something to their desk. 🙂

Perhaps you could find some apple stationary, give her a few apples, and a gift card to APPLEbee's. 🙂

Teachers always end up buying supplies for the classroom out of their own pockets (even though they shouldn't have to), so I would probably get a Staples or Office Max/Depot gift card for her to use throughout the school year.
