Okay I got a friend whose pretty much in that stage of life where she feels totally empty. I'm sure many of us have been there. You go day in and out doing things and it's all just a routine. You are not truly happy and the only happiness you get are the temporary ones that comes from material goods.

I want to get her a gift that shows that there is many meanings in life and although you feel empty now, there will be hope in the future. Something sentimental that she can always look at and feel motivated.

This is not necessarily an x-mas gift. Just a casual gift from a friend and someone who cares. I'm pretty stumped. What do you guys have in mind?

Just tell her how ya feel. Usually words mean allot more than anything else.

Yes thats true but something physical is a good compliment to words since it can help carry your words over time.

How good a friend is she? You could get her an engraved ring (a friendship ring will do).. Take her out to do something fun.. anything from dinner to an amusement park to a weekend in Vegas,, ;)
Get her a boyfriend, that helps too.. or maybe even a cat/dog. It will awaken nuturing instincts in her and she won't feel as lonely..
Some may suggest one of those inspirational wall hangings but I think those are cheesy and make me more depressed. :)

i've kknown her for about a month but the weird thing is that i feel like we have so much in common and its like i've known her for years and years. i do admit to liking her but i'm not sure about developing anything other than friendship, yet i do not want to disclose that possibility. so i'm trying to look for something simplistic to show her i care and i can be a friend or even more. i dont want to go overboard :)

so far the best idea i got is from a friend. probably going to goto hallmark to get some ideas and handmake a really nice card for her with a poem. gonna give me a chance to catch up on my artistic abilities, or lack there of :)

p.s. i need me a red bull. coffee is not working. must not fall asleep. must cram for finals >:)

I would suggest a trip to the biggest amusement park thats close to you and a day pass, just you and her and alot of fun, thats what she probably needs, plain simple fun, to distract her from her own problems.

Get her a puppy or a kitten, and all the trimmings (litterbox, etc). That will give her something to come home to that reminds her of you :)

Give her 'Tuesdays with Morrie'. It's a book.

If you haven't read it already, I STRONGLY recommend it. I GUARANTEE anyone that reads that book comes out with a better outlook.

Good luck!
