Need some help with BulletFTP. I have my pc at home set up with BPFTP and I can access it, no problem. I am not at home now and I am trying to download somethng from my pc and it is dreadfully slow.

When I select the user in the configuration, I wsent under Ratio, Quota, bps. I have played around with the speeds under bps but it doesn't seem to affect the speed. It fluctuates alot but the max is about 20.0 KB/s.

My normal upload speed is supposed to be 256K. Can I reasonably expect to reach speeds close to this?

Or am I getting the KB/s confused?
Thanks.

I think your confused, 256Kb/s = 32KB/s - your speed is about right.

lowecase b = bits, upper = bytes
1 byte = 8 bits

It just seems odd that it dips all the way down to 6.0 K or so then goes back up. It took over 15 minutes to download a 5MB file.
I even remeber when I was on 28.8 or 56K. Downloading was around 5.0 K/s IIRC. It just seems this cable should be a good bit faster and more consistent.

yah, cable service varies, i can hardly get 10KB/sec upload on mine, BUT if i upload to somone on the same provider, i'll get a consistent 30KB/s
