I hope it can satiate my need for a GRID2. I have high hopes for this game.

Every NFS after Most Wanted has been utter shit. I don't know if I can take it anymore :brokenheart:

Ok that review was encouraging. Anyone know the hardware requirements?

But we all know minimum requirements means only the menus will have a decent framerate. :D

You got it in NFS Carbon and Undercover and even NFS Underground 2.

There is nothing fun about the last few NFS games. I played Most Wanted and it was fun...ish. The rubber-band ai that speeds up to 300mph to catch up to you if you do well ruined it for me.

Then I played Carbon and Undercover and they were the exact same game.No gameplay changes, same ideas, same campaign, I mean realistically, it was a reskin of the cars and change of the game territory map. Frankly, NFS Carbon and Undercover were abysmal. There is no reason to play then if you've played Most Wanted, might as well just reinstall and play through Most Wanted again.

agree. i hate the fact that ai can catch up you at the end even when you are beating them in a great length

Carbon was ok gameplay-wise. Definitely not up to the recent Most Wanted pinnacle and graphically superior.

I have not had the displeasure of Undercover yet.

Pro Street quite frankly, I had to buy a new PC after I soiled my old one with this poor excuse for a game. Abysmal does not even come close to how bad it was.

Strangely enough, I cannot really tell you what made Most Wanted so much fun. It's soundtrack wasn't as good as Underground 1, it wasn't that impressive graphically but it hooked me for longer than any other NFS title (I started with Undergound 1). I have actually completed it 3 times.

Could someone do me a favour? Has EA finally decided to support Widescreen Solutions for NFS or do I have to deal with major ugliness again?

review of it is pretty positive, anyone pick it up yet?

The way that guy talks I dont think he knows much about racing games or cars in general. His review would not encourage hardcore driving fans to pick up the game.

Luckily I am not that type of person and much prefer the casual, simple games like Test Drive Unlimited.

I may try a demo if I see it, but I dont know if I'll purchase or not.

Most Wanted is the only modern NFS game I have played, and I loved that. It had a lot of content and the game world was fairly large and open-ended. The police chase system was very well designed and probably the highlight of the game. For me, MW struck a good middle ground between realistic racing games (which I generally don't like) and completely arcade-like ones. The only real con was the microstuttering graphics engine.

I never got the more recent NFS games after hearing bad opinions about them. If this new game is reasonably good, I might want to try it.

I couldn't get into MW. I hated how they made such ridiculous cop chase requirements to move on to the next stage like 30min police chases/destroy $1m worth of property/evade 20 spike stripes. I would like to finish the game, but I hate the police chases.

The spike strip challenges did take way too long and I hardly ever did those, but I never found the others quite as bad. You can rack up the cost to state very fast at the higher heat levels. The 30 minute police chase is tedious but can be done easily by parking on the bus station's roof, especially if you do it early in the game.
