Need for Speed: Prostreet

Is it a good game? (Been playing NFS:MW and NFS:C on my PC)
Also, to enjoy any racing game on a console (just got my 360 less than a month ago) do you need a steering wheel controller (I see one on scale for 40 bucks)?

Thanks

There are better racing games on the 360.

And no, you don't need a steering wheel to enjoy a racing game.

Prostreet hasn't been getting great reviews, I'd recomment PGR4, which I have and have played quite a bit... its a tad on the arcade side and isnt a straight up sim like Forza, but still has a level of 'realism' to it which I love. Great blend.

I personally like NFS:MW the best and then did not like Carbon. I liked the demo for NFS😛S.

However in the final game, you start out with some really crappy cars so the handling on them is just awful. I'm talking abot you will try to hold left/right to turn and your car just won't turn. You really have to brake hard before you make some turns. In the demo you raced with some awesome car so all controls fine.

I also really do not like the whole presentation. It reminds me of the Fast and Furious car wars in the desert, which was like 7 years ago so this feels a little late. The pointless burnouts you do before (i think they are pointless) the drag races seems to be a waste of space too. Also the "best fit line" doesn't seem to work nearly as well as it does in other games like Forza.

However, I'm still having fun with the game. I'd say give it a rental at first and see if you think you could get into it. Personally I still think NFS:MW is the best. PS seems like it's trying to go too much to control somewhat like PGR where it's a mix between simulation and arcade, however it just doesn't feel right in that aspect. NFS:MW was straight up arcade racing which I loved.

I really enjoyed the last 2 or 3 NFS games, but this one doesn't look too good. I think I might skip this one.

I hated carbon, played the Prostreet PC demo and it seemed merely ok. I think this franchise is dead. NFS:MW was tha last really good one IMO. I'll prob get the PC version as it is much cheaper and will look better on my system, but really, they are beating a dead horse here. The only thing I like about Carbon was falling off a cliff, but other than that it just sucks.🙂

I have it for the PC and it's.......ok. The races are kind of meh but the Drag and Drifting is a whole lot of fun. Car selection and customization is pretty good. I'd say it's a rent for the console. If the MP, which I haven't played, is good then it would be a buy IMO.

I rented it over the weekend, beat about 3/4's of it with a few friends. Grip is boring until you get a half decent car, drag and drift are the most fun and speed challenges are really boring. Overall, from what I've played, it's a "meh" game that you'll get over in a few minutes after playing for the first time.
