Need For Speed High Stakes ..... (steering wheel controller)

I just bought a steering wheel controller. I went with the new "Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Digital 2." I must say, I am very impressed with the unit.

As you might know, it has a shifter and have been playing Viper Racing, NFS PU, GP3, F1200, Rally Championship 2000 and some others. The problem is with Need For Speed High Stakes! I can not get the cars to run as manual (stick shift). I looked and looked in the NFS HS game menu but can't find the option to play as a manual transmission.

Anyone know if I can set this game as a manual transmission?

NOTE: NFS PU has an option for manual shift.

Yes it's possible to shift manually in NFS HS.

Go into the menu where you choose your car, color of the car, engine tuning etc. There should be an option for selecting type of tranmission.

PS: It's a long time since I have been playing the game.
