Need For Speed 5 Porsche Unlimited Screen Problem?

i got everything to work in NFS5, got it all ready to go then when i go to race and the new screen pops up, it's all like just pink and i dont even see the cars or ne thing, the colors are all jacked up (one color sometimes changes), but in the setup and everything the picture looks normal, ne suggestions. By the way, i'm using this game with a Diamond Viper 2 s3 2000 if that helps, thanx in advance for all ur help, cuz i know all u anandtechers will prolly be able to tell me how to fix this, thanx!

When I was using a Viper2, I had a lot of problems getting NFS PU to work. First, try the latest drivers, then change the resolution from 640x480(higher is better), and if it still doesn't work get the S3tweak utility and play around with it. One thing that seemed to work well, was the no-cd exe I found here. Note though, that you won't be able to play online with this file, at least I never could.

Do a search on this message board and site. There you will find links to the S3tweak program and recommended settings etc.

I did get NFS PU working fine, except the shadows under the cars will always be shimmering, so once that's all that is wrong consider it fixed.

sandorski- thanx for the quick reply, so just a dumb question i guess, um, how do i know which version driver i'm using for my video card, and what settings and stuff shoudl i put on the tweak thing? thanx in advance

Alright, i found i was using driver 4.00 and the newest was 4.12, i d/led it and then tried to install it the way teh instructions said, but when i would try to find the path to the file it would come up blank, then i also put the resolution up higher did nothing, then i got the tweak thing and have no idea what to put on and off, still didn't work, then i also got he no cd thing and well that didn't work either. I dunno why, but the only thing that goes wrong is when i go to the race and the screen pops up, i just get pink and then the outline of like a tree in the sky in pink, so i can't see ne pictures or cars or ne thing, it sux, PLEEZ HELP ME

HELP! I have the EXACT same problem except I am using an ASUS 6800 DLX and have tried ALL version of video drivers for this. Real, beta and reference. This is the ONLY freaking game that I am having problems, and I have 100s if not 1000s of games. I wish EA would get their SH1T together and release a freaking patch already. Those bastards!

EA has released a patch, to get it, you must go to Multiplayer then choose Internet. It will look then download the latest patch. Buffboy, you may want to try that if you haven't already.

Well, I did some tweaking in advanced properties for my geforce ddr card and now I can get the graphics to display properly but now the damn thing locks up constantly. I hate EA. This is the only game I have problems with. All the latest games play fine but this one. I hate having to be connected to the internet and have to have the game running just to patch it. I am seriously thinking of switching to console gaming just from this one stupid game.

I found this Patch? but I havent tried it. This is the only thing I could find other than having to register the game and patching through EAs website. Those bastards. Lemme know if it works for you.
