Please help me crank up this old motherboard. I have checked the ASUS web site and the A7V333 manual and they both say that the FSB is limited to 266 Mhz. The VIA KT333 chipset supposedly will support a 333 FSB. I want to put the fasted AMD XP in this motherbaord that I can, hopefully a 2600+. Has anyone got this combination?

I don't have a 2600+, but I do have an A7V333, and I believe it does support the 333MHz FSB. Unofficially on the first revisions, and officially on the v2.0 boards. It's got the proper dividers to keep AGP/PCI within spec.

Go for it. :)

Edit - "Old" motherboard?

Yes, I have an A7V33-raid from Newegg. It does support 166 fsb, but
you cannot use 3 PC2700 Dram sticks at the same time under 166fsb.
There is an option in the Bios to set PCI bus at 33 under 166fsb. Good old board.

Thanks Metalmania and MercenaryForHire. I will plunk down that 2600+ and fire it up. I only have 2 DDR sticks to install, so I should stay away from ASUS peculiarities.
