Need firmware for X25-m G1 80gb

My X25-m G1 80gb has once again dropped down to under 4mb/s for 4k random writes, meaning it's gotten fragmented.

I'd like to flash the firmware again to restore the new performance, but it looks like Intel has pulled *all* their SSD firmware - not just the one for the G2 with it's TRIM-related issues.

Does anyone out there have a copy of the requisite update tool and latest G1 firmware?

I'd sure appreciate it. Having an Intel SSD with a Windows Experience of 5.9 is downright pathetic!

Thanks...

Does updating the firmware restore it to a like-new state? I thought you had to wipe it with HDDErase to do that.

On this drive, it does.

Also: Not trying to be asinine, but I want to head off any "it's fast enough as it is" replies. Fact is, nothing's ever fast enough. Never will be.

Anyway. Like I said, if anyone still has that util and FW - I'd sure appreciate it.

You'd care to explain why updating the FW should help with your problem? Afaik even the wiper tool was only for G2 drives.. don't even talk about TRIM.

The drive doesn't know which files are bogus (e.g. already deleted in the OS), so imho it's completly impossible that a FW update alone should do anything.

Anyway if you want to try your luck, I uploaded the FW (100902HA88208850) here: http://rapidshare.com/files/29...902HA88208850.ISO.html

I think you already know the risks..

Thanks so much guys. Listen, I agree that it's conceptually questionable. However, you've got lots of people on the boards who appear to be non-clueless and all reporting success.

I will be sure to report back how it goes for the benefit of others in the same boat. Anyway, thanks again.

You guys are the best.
