Basically, I've decided on Kaspersky Antivirus Personal Pro for my AntiV.

Now I need a firewall. IS the Kaspersky firewall good? Should I go for the Kaspersky Internet Security package?

I cannot find any trusted up to date firewall comparative charts. Do any of you know of some good sites. Money is not an issue I just need something..as of right now I am using Norton Internet Security 2005.

I kind of have a selection of firewalls I'm considering

1. Outpost
2. Kerio
3.Sygate
4.ZoneAlarm

Please help a person move away from Norton and to something worthy...thanks

If you do get the Kaspersky package then you should be able to get a 2-year license for $60 during checkout (if you want). Maybe get a trial version first, and see if you like it?

If you have broadband, and don't have a router yet, then that's another good reinforcement, especially if you create rules that arbitrarily lock all the ports you don't specifically need open. router idea

I've been using ZA for years now and everything I've always read about it is that it's always one of the top rated software firewalls. It has always worked very well for me. I also understand that Outpost is supposed to be very good and top rated as well. I'd choose between those two.

i am really fond of kerio persion firewall v2.1. it's since been replaced by version 4.5 or something -- i don't even know at this point -- and i believe the original code was acquired by a new company, hence the big changes.

2.1 does everything i want and more. it's extremely user friendly and customizable. i've been using it for years and i don't see any need to change.

Kerio and Sygate seem to be the two favorites here at the forums. If I remember correctly, ZA used to cause crashes in certain programs, but I don't know how it is now.
