Well, traditional fashion sense would say NO TIE with any "brown dress shirt". I would say, white or off-white would go tolerably well. Peeps here might suggest yellow. Ignore them.

Perhaps a very light shade of tan. A tie cries out for contrast from the background of the shirt, which is why, WHITE shirts are the norm.

Most colors should work fine with a solid brown dress shirt. I would start with either a blue, orange or pink depending on your options.

If you really want useful fashion advice heed this: Burn any brown dress shirts you own.

Beige, yellow, pattern that has brown in it. To be honest, a salmon color would work too.

QFT

Brown dress shirts shouldn't be worn with a tie.

pics?

i need to know how brown this shirt is.... because if its like really really dark you need a contrasting shade... lavender would work, someone said salmon, that would work, not yellow yellow- maybe like a pastel yellow, something really pale, baby blue

if its a light brown shirt, like tan or khaki looking, id go with maroon or navy blue or even like, emerald or plum

yeah....I had a hot chick tell me that in High school (she was really hot!).

I sat behind her in ENglish and while I was talking to her she saw me wearing a brown belt with black shoes. She just went:

"Black Shoes and brown belt...that's a fashion no no"

Till this day, when i ever I see her i just call her "fashion police".

here's the color link

Yeah, don't wear a tie with that. Heck, I don't even know what pants you'd wear with that.

yea, actually that is so true. something THAT brown, you cant wear dress pants with it. you would look like a turd wearing that shirt and dark pants. you cant wear white ones or youll like you belong in studio 54.... grey will not work and neither will khaki...

buy a new shirt, man and match it to a tie you already own...
