I am new here and hope I am at the right place. When I type ReactOS forums in my search engine I got this site. So here goes.

I have ReactOS 4.7 loaded in virtual box, the host is LInux Mint 18.3 x64. But the Ethernet, Multimedia, and system device drivers were not loaded by the ISO.

I have searched and searched but can't seem to find the Ethernet driver. Here is the information about the OS.

ReactOS Version 0.4.7

Build 20171124-0.4.7-release.GNU_4.7.2

Reporting NT 5.2(Build 3790: Service Pack 2}

I would appreciate it if you could help me find an ethernet driver for this OS as I can't connect to the host wifi without it.

I also tried to find the driver with the following:

Device Instance ID: PCI\VEN_8068&DEV_100E&SUBSYS_001E8086&REV_02\3&609b8881.....

Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_100E&SUBSYS_001E8086&REV_02

Here is a third one I didn't try,

Compatible ID: PCI\8086&DEV_100E&REV_02.

With the first two ID's I found drivers but couldn't find one that worked, but I have a lot to learn about using these ID's to find drivers. Seems to me they are all the same drivers, just shortened ID's. If you could help me find the driver I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Shouldn't you be using virtual intel nic on the virtualbox setup? It should look like intel to the vm.

Thanks sdifox for the reply, but you have me at a disadvantage. I am not a computer geek, but I am a long way from a newbie.

But I have no idea what you are referring to. I googled the virutal intel nic and really got nothing to help me.

Could you tell me what it is and what it does. Thanks.

A virtual machine doesn't know what hardware you have. The virtualbox fakes it. So in your virtual machine setup, even before you start installing the guest os, you need to specify what hardware to expose to the vm. That is where you add the virtual intel nic. I am not aware of any os without intel drivers.

Lots of howto video on youtube

You need to find out if the Ethernet device is on the motherboard or a separate PCI card. Then search Google for the drivers.

OK. This is interesting. ReactOS is not linux, it's written from scratch and emulate Windows XP/2003 (NT 5.2).

You need to choose 'PCnet-FAST III' as virtual NIC like sdifox has pointed out according to ReactOS.

The OS is superfast. But as of now, it only support FAT32 system, NTFS not supported yet.
