I just got an old 87 Cutlass Ciera donated to me by my late granma's estate. It has 14000 miles on it. But dispite being nearly mint condition, the 2.8L V6 Multiport Fuel Injection engine just doesnt do it for me. (Seeing that im 18 years old, not 81) I am looking to replace it. I have a little over 2 grand to do so. (OMG.. wait.. that means no new computer parts for like....MONTHS!! NOOOOOOOOOO) Anyways.. does anyone know how I can get started?

Once you get the new engine, then you'll realize the WHOLE CAR doesn't do it for you. For pete's sake, it is the epitome of bland car.

Go out, trade in that car and get yourself a nice Sports Coupe, maybe a '89 240SX SE, and have some fun.

Anyways...if you REALLY want to keep the car, what about putting a small block 350 in there? I'm sure it'll fit, with a LOT of work.

Sell it for as much as you can (with those miles, you might get 3K) add your 2K, and buy somthing cool. Super had a great suggestion with a 240sx, but with 5K you could afford 92.

You couldn't fit a 350 in the Ciera engine bay without some serious modification, plus you'd have to convert it to rear-wheel drive. :)

That's a decent car and you will get nowhere what it is worth (either selling or trading it).

As for the V6, I'd keep it as well. With gas prices on the rise for the indefinite future, you'll be glad you did.
