need emergency help!!!/ have posted stop msg

win 2k now crashes after installing adaptec ezcd creator, and dvd player, need to get it rnning again without reinstalling win2k, can get to safe mode, but not safe with network, and i get a stop msg bsod. please, can you help? if you need more info, pm me, ill be in ot. ., pls!!, i need to get this sytem running to keep my bro from stealing my girl!!
oh helps when i connect reset button. it resets. .

how could i trick win nt to reinstall, ?? could reinstalling sp1 help? no cant run anything, cant add remove proggys, maybe a virus? shoot, an ntfs virus' spread to my other Os's? aww shoot shoot shoot shiot

also i have a botched install of logitech wingman something or other, its totally messed up, cant remove it, when i click remove, it wants to start reinstalling the stuff, and locks up..

Just had a similar problem with ezcd creator and plex manager 2000 +upgrade.Although i havn`t worked the problem out yet as to why,I have got the machine at least stable with no stop errors.Went into win 2000 in safe mode and removed ezcd/plex + upgrade in add/remove programms.That stopped the stop errors.So far i have been able to re-install ezcd and plex manager but get a recurance when the plex upgrade goes in ,so of course gonna leave that one alone for now.Hope this helps with your imediate problem and maybe someone more knowledgable will help a little more.

uninstall easy cd creator in safe mode, you don't have the newest version of EZCD, check the adaptec FAQ on windows 2000.

all patchs to what? naw i was trying a really old adaptec, cause i cant find my new version. it takes forever to restart. . . well shut down, . i had it on my udma 66 controller, but niether linux nor beos nor free bsd run off that so i physically moved the system to the 33, but then the probbys cropped up, and it got really bad after i installed sp1

Yer what version of adaptec are you running? Version 4.0 will install but not work under W2k until you apply patches.

Try uninstalling all potential problematic programs "adaptec" and "wingman". Then install them one by one and see if you can locate the problem.

What's this about your bro stealing your girl? What has your computer got to do with it??

That error message you are getting is because you don't have the latest edition of ezcd creator, believe me, I went through a reinstall because it wouldn't even let me in during safe mode. Take that error message, write it down and type it into the ms knowledge base. It will find a document that will give you three scenarios for disabling EZCD so you can get into win2k. You must install the latest version or you will bomb 2k badly. As I said, when I did it, I couldn't even get in through safe mode, had to reboot to repair console...

Sounds as if you really hosed. To enter repair console mode reboot from W2k Pro Cd and choose repair and then C for console.

In the directory C:\winnt\repair directory are a few of the "hives" of the registry. You can try to copy these to the C:\WINNT\System32\Config folder. This is a last ditch manuever, when every thing else has failed. I've bailed myself out a couple of times.
