Need ebay advice please

Hi
I sold an item for about $900.00 on ebay and some person happened to bid on it and won. This person said they will have a confirmed address and everything should be okay. I got the payment and the nothing has been confirmed through the paypal screen.

I emailed the person and asked them about the unconfirmed address but have not heard back yet. Hopefully I will hear back shortly.

What would you do? I want to be careful since that's a good amount of money to have charged back to me. Also, his feedback was 4 Pos and 2 Neg.

PD: Don't rejected in case that my address send you as unconfirmed, i have

I got the payment but it seems nothing is confirmed like you told me. Do you know how long it will take to get it confirmed? I can reject it until it is or we can figure out something else.

unconfirmed, but it is not.
So please, just accept the payment.



 
Did your action state to a confirmed addy only? If not just send more emails to the buyer and keep all records in the event that you have to file a dispute. I would also read the Ebay rules with regard to confirmed/non confirmed addys. Since you have the payment in hand I would not worry about it but just keep good records.

does this mean, that the payment isn't showing up on paypal or just that it's unconfirmed?

either way with 2 neg and 4 pos. feedback, you need to protect yourself.
refuse the money and relist if you have to.

I did not state to sent to confirmed addy's only (I think I'll put that in now).

I have the money in my paypal account already. It just shows that the address is unverified.

 
sounds fishy to me. he sure is pushy and paypal casued an error that will make his addy uncofirmed forever? i doubt it. sounds like a scam to me.
 
Did he pay through bank transfer or CC? If it's CC I would definately refuse payment until he gets the address confirmed. Without a confirmed address paypal won't cover any losses, if he files a chargeback or is using a stolen CC you will get screwed. And even with a confirmed address you can still get screwed because Paypal won't cover the entire $900.

Usually if I sell items over a few hundred dollars I specify money order/cashiers check only, and will only take paypal on request if I know the buyer is legit.

I've dealt with many of these people. They always say ' My paypal has problems balhblahblah'
 
Okay, I even called paypal to confirm this was not a confirmed address. I also emailed the guy to send a confirmed address but he can't seem to do so. I just refunded his payment and I will probably relist my Thinkpad.
 
no way in hell I would go through with that. i mean just look at the emails. those alone scream scam. his english is so damn broken i don't even know where to begin.

also, confirming an address through paypal takes minutes.
 
Update: I sent this guy this email:

I get this in response:

OK, you can relist the item, BUT since you rejected the payment , you should
know that it takes about 4 days to recover the money and make the payment
again. So I think it wouldn't be nice from you to relist the item.
So in case that you relist it, I am going to leave negative feedback.


I have this feeling this guy is indeed a scammer. Is there a way to go to Ebay and basically remove this guy. Like if they can't verify all his information or something?
 
I requested his contact information from ebay and he doesn't even have the correct phone number. I called and it's some company that doesn't know who this guy is. I really don't want to get a negative feedback from this guy since I have a perfect record right now but I also don't want to deal with him as well.
 
This has happened to me once. I had a confirmed address, but everytime I made a transaction of more than $500, then it used to show up as unconfirmed.

I do not know what the problem was, but Paypal fixed it after 2-3 tries. The seller was pissed off, but finally was satisfied because everything worked out fine.

Check with Paypal and see what they guarantee if the buyer's address is unconfirmed. If they don't guarantee the protection and such, then tell him you need him to verify his address before you will ship in order to accept Paypal. Otherwise offer to refund him the money he paid.

I wouldn't risk something that expensive unless I knew for sure I had my ass covered as well as I could.
 
I also called paypal yesterday and they have only one address for this guy. This is seriously giving me a headache.
