Granted, i know i'm gonna get flamed for the waste of money or the level of annoyance, but if loud subwoofers bother you, then get over it.

I have two 15"s in the trunk of my explorer, but they are loud...i want more, like the kind you hear all the way up the block. Just wondering what combinations of amps you guys have for the earth shattering bass.

Looking to spend up to $1000 for amp/sub combo, but any suggestions are welcome.

you're not going to get much bigger than 15", why don't you just double or triple your setup?

bigger subs aren't always better...they're usually just louder. I'm looking for more of a tight sound rather than loud, possibly entailing a setup of three 12"s, but i want the whole city to know when i'm coming home. I dunno...I want it to be SUPER loud....and if you guys have any installs that you're proud of, post it to give me an idea.

Play it that loud, and you'll want somthing that can go louder once your hearing starts to go. There comes a point where it becomes too loud you know :)

Pair of Adire Audio Brahma 12"s or 15"s ported to 30hz with a JBL 1200.1 on each.

150's well within reach.

Or, if you want 15"s...one or two Kicker L7 15"s ported and a Cadence A7H or z7000

Adire Audio Tempest ported.

Lots of options. Check em out

ummmk...lemme another stab at this. I have two 15"S that are loud, and hit the notes hard, but to me, sound loose. Cars pass by that have earth shattering bass...that's what i'm looking for. Considering my subs sound loose, i'd like for them to have a crisp sounding bass line (tight punch) AS WELL AS being super loud. I have alotted around $1000 to invest and would appreciate any suggestions for speaker/amp combos. I have around $1000 in my last system, but i bought the box on my last setup. This time, i'll probably end up making my own sealed box instead of a ported.

thanks again

<< need earth shattering subwoofers >>

They have pills for those "needs" nowadays. ;)

If you want attention, get some pink fairy wings and a magic wand. Far less annoying and you'll get all the looks your ego is craving. Not to mention, you won't do a thing to your hearing.

Seriously, screw "earth-shattering" bass. In a few years, you'll be rolling your eyes at "present-day" you. Get good equipment that sounds tight, can handle the full-range of sound, gives you clarity at the lowest and highest volumes.

Tro's, Cerwin Vega Strokers, Digital Designs (DD Beast), IDMAX, JL W7, Orion HCCA's, Adire Audio Malestroms.. there are lots out there.. if you want loud, get some SPL subs and drop them in a ported box and pump a bunch of power to them. Frankly I don't know why anyone would want that, sure it might be loud, but sound like a$$. I go for sound quality myself.

Also, check out the forums at www.termpro.com all of em over there are SPL competitors in DB drags etc..

"Earth shattering" implies very low frequency so go with a couple infinity kappa perfects . i would not get an 18 inch they are bascially just cumbersome to carry around. for tight accurate bass make sure your amp has a 24dB/octave low pass crossover slope. and a good bass boost in the 45hz range is good. that will give you a great low end and that is what "shatters earth"

yah sealed is better for high power. keeps the speaker tight and "suction cupped" in there.

I don't mean to be rude, I'm just curious: Why? I can understand having a nice sounding stereo that you can hear over the ambient road noise, but why on Earth would you want people up the block to know you're coming? Is it the same concept that makes you look "hard" to all the dumb ass homies when you stick a yuban can on your muffler, or perhaps the concept that grants you status for defiling the road with the likes of a Ford Excursion? I'm only 19 and all, but this even sounds ridiculous to me.

do you want freaking loud or tight? pick one not both

if you want LOUD just get 2 brahma's hook up a massive amount of watts to each in a huge ported box, viola spl machine

if you want TIGHT, try getting somethign like 2 IDMax' or 2 12w7's or 2 Eclipse subs w/700++ watts each in a sealed enclosure
