Need DVD vob file editor

My situation is I have one of those complete season DVD sets that has about 20 episodes on it across 5 DVD's. I would like to get these onto my computer for easy access, but the DVD's contain one long stretch of video that is time referenced by the root menu. I need a program that can take a user defined chunk of those vob files and make them into either another vob file or an mpeg file of some sort. I've been digging around with no luck... does anyone know of something that can do this?

DVD2AVI allows you to select a group of VOBs -- one Title or Track on the DVD -- then select a range within that. Once you've done that you can convert to MPEG, AVI, etc using VirtualDub, TMPGEnc or anything else that can read .d2v files.

Also, the shareware version of TMPGEnc has a "Merge & Cut" tab in the MPEG Tools menu. (File -> MPEG Tools) While it's somewhat laggy, at least on my computer, it will cut out sections of the VOBs directly, with no conversion. Just select the entire range of VOBs, manually, then select the first VOB and hit "EDIT". If the section you want isn't in that VOB then remove it from the list. Otherwise set the start point, then move to the next VOB and find the endpoint, removing all the VOBs after it from the list.

That sounds a lot more complex than it is. Just give it a shot.

DVD shrink worked for what I needed to do. I use AutoGK to turn my vob files into mpeg4 and it works better than anything I've messed with so far.
