Ok, all you videoeditors. I have a question for you.

What I want to do besides committing my DV-tapes to DVD is making a video-clip so this app needs to do some good audiowork as well.

Other qualities l am looking for:
support 16:9 and preferably HD
DVD menu in layers
Incorporation of photomaterial, so holiday photo's can go on the same DVD
Dolby 5.1 encoding

Of course you could invest heavily in some pro app, but isn't there a pro-sumer / semi-pro app for ? 100,00 - 200,00 that does this?

I was thinking that Pinnacles Studio Plus Media Suite came real close. I'd like to hear some alternatives before pulling the trigger. Thank you in advance.

dvd isnt HD. hd cams are much more expensive. does your dv-cam record in 5.1? adobe premier can do everything else you want to do.

No, the cam doesn't record in 5.1. I think none of the DV-cams do. A camera that claims to record in 5.1 is total BS if you ask me. 5.1 is way of mixing, not recording.

The software should allow me to create a 5.1 soundtrack though. I know PSPMS does. HD is just a nice-to-have side note that would mean it's future proof, sort of.
