Hi, I need hep real quick here. I just formatted my girlfriend's hdd and now I need the driver for her external 56k modem. It doesn't have the name so I don't know where to get it. Does anybody know where I can get the driver or using windows driver for it? thanks

nb: I am using win 98SE for this.

Check the bottom of the modem and see if it has an FCC ID number. If so, go to windriver.com and do a search on it. This should allow you to find out what company manufactures her modem.

I'd just go into the control panel, double click on the "modem" icon, let it detect, and then just give it a generic 56k modem driver that window's comes with.

Ahhh...the beauty of hardware modems.

you can almost always use them with generic drivers.
