I bought a cheap but reliable webcam for my computer a few years back while in China but have since lost the driver cd. I need to reinstall the driver b/c I made a new computer and ditched the old one: any advice on generic webcam drivers, if such things exist? I blew all my tech money on my new rig and don't want to buy another camera...

The only info printed on the device itself is "Hizixin, " presumably the name of the manufacturer, as well as a sticker on the back which reads "QC TP6880." My google skills failed me: they bring up some info about drivers, but no actual downloads.

Thoughts?

thanks.

Go to control panel then device manager.
Pick details for the device and post the hardware ID.
Will look something like this: HID\VID_045E&PID_00B0&REV_0143&MI_01&Col01

That will let people know what hardware is inside the device so they can help better.

Here's the hardware id... no luck on the chinese site, though I'm still exploring. My Chinese, unfortunately, isn't what it once was...
