Need digital voice recorder for college classes?

I'm practicing my sales pitch 😛 j/k. But hope I can help a few fellow college students out here.

I'm sure some of you are considering or have considered buying a digital voice recorder for your lecturing classes but do not know which one to buy. The Sony ICD-BP150 I just bought works REALLY, REALLY, surprisingly amazing. It can pick up the instructor's voice from about 15 feet away in a room with 80 students. It records loud voices clearly while minimizes book flipping and paper shoving and whispering among students. You can transfer the sound to PC via USB and then convert it into stereo wav format (unfortunately, no MP3, which will need 3rd party converters to do so). I bought it for $140 at Fry's, but amazon has it for $122, and I'm sure there are a couple of cheaper places. Highly recommended 😉

my $35 olympus doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it still does the job. $120 is a little too much for meh.

Most people find they a good idea in theory but most people never take the time to go back and listen to the lectures :/ However, if this is a very lecture intensive class it *might* be worth it. I'd stick with the cheap way and take good notes ^_^
