Need DDNS server

I need a DDNS server so I can open a port on my computer remotely for a camera security system. The DDNS server that comes with the camera software is flakey. I have windows home server the old version that has a remote login capability. Is there any way to hijack that? I know the port number I am looking for.

I know what the IP address is but I assume it changes periodically. Does it only change when I reset my modem or power it off and on again?

DynDNS offer free Dynanic service. http://www.dyn.com

You have to open a the camera's port through the Router/Firewall toward the IP of the camera.

As an example if you configure your DynDNS account to be perrgy.dyndns.org

Putting perrgy.dyndns.org:XXXX* into the application that can go through the Internet will connect to the camera.

*XXXX being the port that you assigned to the camera and opened through the Router/Firewall.

I've been doing the same for years. Plug my DynDNS info into my DD-WRT router and just set my port forwards as needed.
