Need database help... (don't know where to put it?) MySQL database + phpbb forums...

second time tonight I save someone with phpbb problems

create the database before you run the phpbb install thingy

That's the thing, I've got linux, but I don't know how to configure mysql...

there's postregSQL on there that I can use, but I don't know how to run that either

just use mysql and use phpmyadmin to administer it

they realy should put the create database first info in the readme

I figured you had to create the database first, but I don't know jack about them so...

I get some stupid can't connect to local mysql server because of some mysql.sock not working

you wanna ssh in and work on it lol?

hehe I have no idea how to do this in ssh, my friend does though

I only know how this works in windows with apache

anyway, download phpmyadmin, configure the config file and upload it to the server, should put some htaccess rights on the directory for it since phpmyadmin gives you full control of the datbase, there you can do pretty much anything

Well, one of my friends knows how to do all this crap in linux too... I guess I'll have to wait till he comes online... darn... well thanks for the help anyways (lol I'm not even gonna try this one yet... ugh I don't know a lot)
