I'm quite a few months out of research on this one. A friend of mine is building a new rig and needing some advice, my mind is still on the TR-Ultra120//Tuniq 120 generation. Please advice. Money isn't problem for him, just need the best air cooler on the market right now. Thanks.

I am moving this thread to cases and Cooling.

The two you mentioned, along with the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 are the best available right now, with the Xigmatek being the best.

nyker there is no such definition as best.

Best for what? Quad? Dual?

Best for what? Silence? Cooling?

Best for what? Price/performance ratio?

Best for what? Size limitations?

LOL....

I think you get my point. Each of those catigories has a different sink attached to it.

Also shame on you, someone with 1936 post count should know the proper place to put this type of thread.

My section if you get my drift.

TR just showed a copper TRUE so I would imagine that being in the top 1 or 2 when it's reviewed.

@aigomorla you right of course, but for my friend he has big can can take anything. basically size/price no issue, just performance.

I guess after some research and your suggestions here are the candidates:

TRUE (copper version)
CM Vendetta 2
Xigmatek HDT-S1283
Tuniq 120 (showing age now, I probably will skip it now)

The copper true was just for show...it was breaking mobos left and right

http://en.expreview.com/2008/0...-u120e-cooper-version/

"Seems we did not make things clear yeaterday, beceasue today a Thermalright rep expains that company actually have no plan for producing Ultra 120 Extreme full cooper version. The cooler in this pic is only for ComputeX display only. It is said that the weight will broke any mobo so they won?t debut such a product."

What about the COOLiT Freezone and Eliminator? are they better than those top ones like Xigmatek and Sunbeam which are the top ones right now?

@aigomorla thanks for the suggestion. I looked at some reviews of the IFX14, it looks quite interesting but I'm not too sure how it compares with the original TRUE.

@Jincuteguy I'm looking for air coolers. Bu thanks.

I'm currently leaning toware Vendetta 2 with the touch heatpike design, looks easy to install as well. This one seems to beat both Xigma and TRUE in many tests.
