need credit card advice!

hi all:

so i had an american express BLUE for student card (with a $1000 credit line)... and i've been using that for about 2 years now

at the beginning of this year i applied for the BLUE CASH card and was accepted for a $1700 credit line. nothing fancy but certainly i can finally charge a laptop on my credit card... (it has 1% rebate)

so since i've gotten the BLUE CASH card, i've been using that to try and get some cents and dollars back through its cash back function (which the student card does not offer), and i don't use the BLUE student card anymore

and i was thinking about getting a new card with some sort of reward (citibank 5% gas reward card? amazon $30GC card?) and ditch the student card...

the thing is i may not get approved for either the citibank or the amazon (bank one) card... i've been rejected by DISCOVER and BANKONE before for some unknown reason...

so any adivce?

thanks in advance

Keep both cards--it'll be better for your credit score this way. Longer average credit history and better credit to debt ratio. Try applying with MBNA for one of their cards, those people are great.
