Need CPU fan recommendation

I have a MSI KT4V mobo and a Athlon XP 2200 with Win xp, and normally the heat i get from the CPU ranges from 55 to 60 Celcius. And i got this numbers from a software called PC Alert from MSI's website. And this is while i set the cooler xp on!!
So i wish to get a new CPU fan, cos right now my cpu speed is set at 1.89GHz, i once set it higher and it crashed the whole thing for a good half an hour or so. The whole PC just wouldn't start.
So can anyone give me some pointers on how to chose a good cpu fan for my CPU? And what else should i get to install it?

Whats your budget?

The Thermalright SLK series is quite popular and very efficient coupled with a good fan. Vantec Aeroflow's are also quite good, and not very expensive.

Welcome to AnandTech, by the way 🙂

It would be nice to know your heatsink and fan combination you are using for cooling. Vegetto is right however, if you overclock get a Thermalright SLK or SP series heatsink with a Aeroflow, Smartfan II or Tornado fan. And don't forget some Arctic Silver cooling goop.

Uhm, actually i was thinking anything around 30 bucks or so; but that's because i don't really know how much an average fan would cost; plus i live in malaysia, penang, a country above singapore, and i'm not sure if i can find any of those fans mentioned above, that's why i was asking for any tip to help me recognize any good fans to buy... Thanks guys!!
