My computer crashed with some pretty heavy graphics corruption when I went to run a HL2 mod. The computer then went on to post with graphics corruption. What I find strange is that the computer will boot up in safe mode, and will also boot to windows when no driver is installed.
Once I install a video driver the computer will display the vista loading bar but will not proceed beyond that. What is also odd is that the loading screen has zero corruption. All previous post screens do, however. I figured a card would be completely kaput when it dies, that is what has happened in the past to me anyways.
P.S. I have cleared my bios/cmos several times.
I have put in a request for an RMA but was still curious about how something like this happens. Any information would be appreciated.
