Thanks to ebaycj for helping out and making a few extra $$ in the process!!

PM me for details. Please leave a contact number and any heatware/refs you might have.

Most likely needs a power-supply replaced but needs it done on-site.

...and you can't do it yourself?

you swap out the PSU by unscrewing the screws with a screwdriver. you pull out the plugs and and detach it from the computer's mainframe which is the tower or case.

you buy a replacement PSU and you backtrack the process of what you did to take out the PSU.

if that doesn't work, then tough luck.

Obviously the OP knows what their limits on hardware replacment is and is seeking a hand. You fail at Tech Support.

Jeebus...

This is a very good client of mine who is NOT comfortable with this simple replacement however I no longer live in the area so that leaves me with 2 choices...
I can
A. Send him to the geek squad.
B. Help fellow AT members make a couple extra bucks.

Posts like yours (fire400) seriously has me leaning towards options A.

I'm actually in the Washington, DC area, so I can't really help him.

Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable allowing someone 'online' to deal with a good client unless you personally know the 'someone'. I would at least pick a person/org with some type of insurance.

Heh heh...

What's the hardware like... server class?

I'm willing to give you a hand, PM me if you need my credentials.

It really depends on what it is because of my job and the limits they put on me.

I'm in Aurora, $85 per hour or fraction thereof. Let me know.

Also more information on what hardware we're talking about would be helpful.
