I was hoping I could get a bit o advise in relation to info regarding and upgrade.

I am currently running an ATI X800 XT plat edition(256 mb) and I am wanting to get into a PCI Express system.. I have looked for several days for a dated or older comparsion b/w AGP cards and the PCI Cards but I have found none..

I have built my last few systems and I am confortable doing so again (although the sata thing and window sxp still elludes me)

Anyway some advise as to what performance differences there are, or some reference to benchmarks comparing a mid range PCI EXP vs my AGP card would be helpful... anyone?

PCI Express vs AGP is a non issue by itself. Upgrade path, and your desired video card are the only important issues concerning AGP and PCI Express. The performance difference between an AGP card vs. a PCI Express card, all else being equal, is insignificantly small. If you want the latest and greatest, PCI Express is your only choice. If you want value, AGP cards like the 6800GS provide good value... and contrary to what people seem to think, AGP will NOT limit performance... you'll hit the limits of the video card before you hit the limits of 8X AGP.
