need comp info on buying parts for first DIY

Well since i heard this is such a helpful place, i was wondering if yall could help me design my first comp. I have owned 3 or 4 comp in the past. I really need some good advice. i have about a grand to spend. I just want fast!!

If you look in my rigs link then check out the ultimate fragger 1700+, I built it back in october for about a grand.
 
Worm- A few basic thoughts

Take more time to choose a case- and don't go too cheap. I personally like the Enlights ($50-60)
Sit down and evaluate what you want to use your computer for. If your not into Games for example, you won't need the "latest and greatest" video cards, etc
As a "first timer" try to avoid any Motherboards with lots of Jumpers or Dip Switches.
Being as how you are looking at a AMD processor- try looking at AMD's website for AMD approved Power supplys, Motherboards, etc
