Need comments/opinions on this setup:
I want to install Vista to a Raptor (dual boot, different HDDs) but i already have XPSP2 on my 74g so i figure i'll buy a Raptor 150x when the price drops a bit. In the mean time, i'll install vista to a spare WD 160gb IDE and then ghost it over to the 150x when i buy it.
a) Will I run into any problems ghosting from 160g 7200 IDE to 150g SATA Raptor? I can't really think of any, but maybe some of you guys have had experiences with it.
b) I have traditionally preferred to keep the OS and my applications on separate partitions (even if its the same drive). For Vista should I keep OS and Apps on the same 150g raptor X (either one or two partitions) or put OS on the raptorX and apps on another 7200/8 drive?
c) CS 1.6 and CS:S are direct sound based EAX games, right? Am i correct in assuming that this means my audigy2 won't be able to generate positional audio until the wrapper is released?
