So I'm getting my tax return (yay!) and really want to invest in a solid (yet not SUPER expensive) coffee pot. I went to Walmart (just to browse) and saw that they had drip coffee / cappuccino maker combos. I REALLY like that idea. I like both, and could save a lot of money by making all of my own stuff. I'm a coffee addict. So, anyone have a good brand or model they'd recommend me?

Dont know about the cappucino makers, but my daily driver is the Cuisinart DCC-1200. Didn't break the bank and makes decent coffee.

I have this same coffeemaker (picked it up for free thanks to debit card rewards), and have been very happy with it. I'm not a "coffee snob" by any stretch of the imagination, so YMMV, but in my opinion, it makes great coffee while also looking pretty snazzy.

The only criticism I have is that it can be quite difficult to tell how much water you've added to the reservoir...although given that I use the pot to measure rather than the numbers in the reservoir itself, this particular issue has never really bothered me.

I've got a pretty nice Cuisinart grinder. It's serves it's purpose. I've seen some combo makers that come with built-in grinders. Of course, the price tag reflects that.
