I need a cheap (in price) video card that will handle vista aero glass. Something like $50 or less...any suggestions?

7300GS / X1300 ftw and easy to find cheap

or grab a used 6600GT/6800/X800 or so ..

6200/X300/X550 are all pretty crap ..

I would think that would work. I'm running Vista on a 9700 Pro and that shouldn't be that much slower...feature set should be the same as far as I know, anyway. The 9550 is also listed on ATI's site as being supported by their Vista drivers.

On my card, performance in Aero is great with a single monitor. Gets a little slower using both of my monitors, but really not bad at all.

9550 might work, but it's uber-slow, we're talking slower than original 9500 non-ultra.

Best bet for a fast cheap AGP card is probably the FS/FT section, look for at least a 6600/X700 if possible.

6800XT is basically equal to 6600GT (128-bit, 8 PP) in the important areas, and if you have decent cooling, can be overclocked to very nice levels. But stock, the 6800XY will be around 4x faster than a 9550, and a lot more modern for your needs.
