need cheap router with QoS help!

As stated, we have 1 router with about 8 computers on it and sometimes my brother downloads torrents... even when limiting the upload speed to 30k/s it slows EVERYONE down to a crawl...

I saw threads for the buffalo router but they aren't even in stock anymore. Any other recommendations? I don't mind used!

A Linksys WRT-54GL can do the same dd-wrt + wondershaper QoS that a Buffalo could before they were banned. Make sure it is a WRT-54G*L*, not just a standard WRT-54G.

sorry to get off topic here, but what's this talk abou tthe Buffalo's getting banned???

to my knowledge, there is some big lawsuit going on. there an article linked somewhere, can't seem to find it.

Not to thread hijack, but yeah, major bummer about Buffalo. Good quality equipment, now totally unavailable on these (US) shores.
