Got the A510. More features than I ever think I'll need, but I guess it'll be more capable if my needs ever change.

Thanks to all who helped.

If you're near a Ritz or Wolf camera just go get one of the "disposables", then build a cable and make it indisposable. It's about 1.3MP, but the high-end version costs $19.

Actually, the A520 comes up at $225, with the $20 off link from MSN...$205 isn't that bad considering you need it today. I would get that if you can't get ahold of the A510.
Do you have a direct link to that MSN $20 off? I just can't find it from your description above. I get to shopping.msn.com and I see:

Shop by Category on the left
Fall Fashion Styles in the middle
Featured Stores on the right.

Circuit City isn't mentioned anywhere.

Sorry, its on the MSN homepage, not shopping.msn.com

I see that you did get the A510, I think its the best choice out there in that price range(for B&M). Stay away from Kodaks and HP cameras pretty much at all costs.

Go to any camera website and there are many who think Kodak is a good camera. Just cause you don't like them doesn't mean a damn. Troll.

The thing that's nice about canons, even the inexpensive ones, is the build quality- it actually feels like you've got something in your hands. The cheapy Sony's feel like a disposable camera. I'm not sure about Fuji, I haven't looked at them a lot, so hopefully someone else can chime in.

It's too bad that their SLR's feel like toys... Rebel XT for instance.

Did you read this thread? How could you call me a troll? Seems like you just poped in to insult me.

Kodak and HP are some of the worst digital cameras on the market.

I have the XT and disagree. The 300d and 20d are pretty solid too IMO.

I had a Kodak 5mp something or another model which wasn't bad actually. I picked it up about a year and a half ago from compgeeks.com for $200. Worked well and took decent pictures. It doesn't compare at all to my new Powershot S2, but it also wasn't $400 either. You do get what you pay for, but if you're looking for something cheap, some of the Kodaks aren't bad. No comment on the HPs.
