Need cheap but fast vid card

Which route? ATI or GeForce FX?

Which model? All those #s for the GeForce FX are confusing me. I just need a sub $100 card that is reliable and faster than my GeForce 3 standard.

Thanks

how about over $100? I don't want the top of the line model but something w/ the most bang for the buck. I will have a TV tuner /PVR card so an "all-in-one" isn't necessary. Just S-video TV-out and fast 3d acceleration.

The 200mhz memory speed quoted at that site for the the Ti 4200 seems low, It should be 250mhz
(500 DDR).
It may be a typo but I would get it elsewhere just incase. But definatly go with the 4200.

It's a typo; that card is 250 core and 513 memory.

Here's a review that discusses this info:

Edit: Moot point -- it's sold out. Keep an eye on the Newegg refurb section, though; seems like they add a new batch of cards every week or so. The best deals go pretty fast, but seems like some good ones always last for a while, too.

For under $100 a ti4200. But really you should be looking at spending more if you want a fairly large improvment.

they really need to make a reply button that autimatically posts "geforce 4 ti4200." Best card available in the $80-120 range depending on whether you want 64mb or 128mb of video ram.

A ti4200 kills any fx5200 and is faster than a fx5600 or fx5600ultra rev1 with aa/af off. It is slower though than a fx5600 ultra rev2 or better.
