Need Cheap Audio Card with DD optical/coax out...

any recommendations? for a htpc so i don't need any other connectors if possible, just the optical/coax audio out...

Do you just need DD pass-through for DVDs, or do you want full surround sound from everything?
If you only need the pass-through, then take a look at the Chaintec AV-710. I have one, and it's great. Extremely cheap from the Egg.

My guess is that coaxial and digital output are unlikely to both be found on an entry level audio card.

You could either buy two separate sound cards (one with an optical output, the other with a coaxial output), or combine your mobo's digital output with that of your sound card of choice.

You would only be able to specify one device as the default device, so whatever htpc programs you are using hopefully have some sort of configuration that allows you to select the sound card output you want to use.

i guess i should have said either/or, since my receive has enought of both, i don't care which it is.
