Alright I am looking for a case. I have looked on new egg a few different times, and cannot find a match for what I am looking for. I want a case that has 3 things: good cooling (lots of fan options), side panel, side door is on hinges. The last criteria is the one that is giving me lots of trouble...thanks in advance. :)

I just purchased an Antec Sonata II...and I love it!!!

I got tired of my 1 year old daughter hitting the reset button so I went and picked it up on Sunday. Now she touches the blue LCD lights on the front. Oh well!

Lots of bays..and fan options too. And locking front/side doors.

Check out the thread on the case there's a nice review on all cases...

I can't give any solutions right now, but, just so you know, more fans doesn't neccessarily equal better cooling. A case with a ton of fans may not cool as efficiently as a case with 3 or 4 well placed fans.

My best suggestion would be to search Newegg cases that you like, and read what reviewers have to say about fan placement & cooling.

Antec cases have the hinged-side-door thing done right. Consider their Sonata, 3000 and 3700 series cases. Among those case, it's hard to make a really bad choice.

Some things to consider:
- Any well-designed case shouldn't need more than one good rear vent fan.
- Side vents/duct/fans are noisy and reduce air-flow over hard drives, elevating drive temps.
- Side-mounting hard drive cages tend to restrict front-to-back airflow.
- Whatever you buy, you'll probably have to mod it for cooler and/or quieter operation.
- The 'Perfect Case' is a myth.

Hope this helps!
