I just installed my system in the I-Star Nitro AX case.

It's gorgeous, quiet and cool-running, but it took some simple mods to get it this way:
- Front pinhole-mesh filter holder removed (doesn't affect looks - improves ventilation).
- Loose-mesh 1" fiberglass furnace filter media used for intake filter.
- Front metal intake grill clipped out.
- Side-duct discarded and side-holes taped over.
- Removed two of the HD trays and foam-mounted drive rotated 90 degrees (width vertical).

Using just the single 120mm rear vent fan, internal system temp (not CPU temp) tracks about 3C above ambient at idle, 5C above ambient with CPU under Prime95 small FFT torture test (MBM5 monitor).

Hard drive barely warm to touch.

The 120mm rear vent fan didn't need replacement - it's as quiet as a 120mm Nexus at 12V with very low vibration (hasn't been vibration-decoupled).

Fan and HD noise, as modded, is barely perceptible.

$125 shipped from Newegg. I'm very pleased with it.

Hope this helps!
