For use with Charter... I don't really have any specific requirements other than something that's stable and not extremely expensive. I am going to be in an apartment building so I imagine the airwaves will be fairly congested, but the area of my apartment is fairly small (basic 1 BR deal).
 
If I understand you correctly, you are trying to go wireless? Charter will supply you with both if you want "not too expensive" .
 
I need something that supports both... wired for desktop and printer, wireless for laptop and phone. I don't want to waste money renting from Charter.
