Need Birthday gift ideas

My brother is turning 15 on the 25th of this month and I have no idea what to get him.

He plays sports, does some console gaming but mostly likes the outdoors.

I moved away to school two years ago so I am not really sure that he likes anymore, and I don't want to be the older brother that gets him the "little kids gift."

Though he probably won't care that much since hes not big on gifts.

Any ideas?

Ipods are great for almost anyone since everyone likes some kind of music, although if he likes the outdoors I would say a gift certificate to Bass Pro or Cabelas if you have one close. Or if you know something specifically he needs like a new pack or something like that then you could go with that.

I hate to go the certificate route since to me it seems like I didn't put any thought into it. But I will keep it in mind.

My parents just got him an ipod for Christmas. I was thinking since he is going to be a sophomore and doing sports I would get him a personalized sports bag or something.

But I am still open for more suggestions.

Basketball, Football, & Track.

So as you can see most of the equipment is provided or he gets his own i.e. shoes, etc.

I was thinking of getting him a duffel bag with his name and team number on it, and he could use it for all the sports he plays.

If you have access to an outlet mall............. you can check out Nike or Adidas for some "dry fit" shirts........... those things are great.

Last time I was in Portland I went to the Woodburn outlets and picked up some dry fit shirts for $10 each.

OP, how about asking him what he wants? He's old enough to not warrant a surprise gift anymore. Plus, it's win-win for both of you.
