In the BIOS of my new board, I can link or unlink the FSB for the proc and RAM. I have the proc running @ 1500 FSB (overclocking it by a factor of 1.407). Now I don't quite understand the RAM rating...
The RAM QDR I'm using is 1000. Considering I have DDR2 1000, I thought that my RAM would max out here @ 2000 (similar to the processor). But, QDR = quad data rate, so I don't know if this is correct.
What's throwing me for a loop here is that my board says that I can have a QDR anywhere from 533 to 3000. So, considering my RAM is one of the faster types available, I thought that 1000 just didn't seem right.
I pass memtest 5-5-5-15 2T @ 2.2V with QDR = 1000. Anything more than 1000 (like 1100) it fails.
Which is the right setting for my RAM?
