Need audio hardware advice

I have a decent computer, but my soundcard and speaker was a carry over from a previous system I have had for a long time, so the sound of my computer is definitely the weakest point, so I've decided to get a new audio setup, but since this is the department I don't usually pay attention to, so my knowledge is pathetically limited in this area, so I am calling for help. My current soundcard is SB PCI128 and speaker is Cambridge Soundworks FPS1800.

I don't use my computer as home theater, the speakers are used primarily for gaming, and a little bit of music listening. My budget for both my soundcard and speaker is around $250. I've narrowed down my sound card choice to Audigy 2 LS and Audigy 2 Value, no clue which one is more suitable for me.

I would prefer a 5.1 speaker system and these are some of the candidates I am considering:

Any suggestions, advices, warnings are all welcome, thanks.

I'd go with a Santa Cruz over the Voyetra.

A 2.1 Klipsch system with the extra cash might be a good choice. If you absolutely must have 5.1, you may want to take a look at the Logitech Z-5300s. Either way, you'll come in at under $250, so you could throw in a nice pair of headphones for nighttime gaming. You could also get the Swans M200 speakers at Newegg for $179 and add in a high-quality woofer- that'll give you the best sound, but you won't have the surround sound of a 5.1 system.

What's the differences between the PC speakers that are digital and non-digital?

Since I play FPS games, a 5.1 is much better than 2.1 in that respect. I am definitely digging the Z-5300e. I like the fact that it has much more wattage than the creative ones I am considering and it is THX certified at a good price.

My friend suggested that to me, apparently he got confused too. lol, there are a lot of scammer on the net. I did a search for that and found pages selling the card, at the title says audigy 2 LS, but the product shown is just audigy LS.
