need audio driver for my compaq v2000z laptop for XP

i just can't get my audio working in XP pro

compaq's drivers don't work, realtek's ac'97 drivers don't work; i have no idea what's going on.

my laptop is a compaq v2000z with a turion64 cpu, ati 200m gpu

everything else works fine since i did a complete reformat/reinstall of windows but no audio. wtf?

appreciate any help i can get

i ran belarc advisor and i get NO info at all about my audio..................frustrating
